Ravenna Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, District 2 recently hosted Associate Matron and Associate Patron Night.

Special guests were Associate Grand Matron Sandi Herman, Guernsey Chapter, Cambridge, and Associate Grand Patron, David Sexton, Amelia Chapter, Cincinnati.

The Associate Matrons and Patrons will traditionally move on to the position of Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron beginning with the Grand Chapter Session at Kalahari Convention Center in September.

Subordinate chapters will install Worthy Matrons and Worthy Patrons during October and November.

The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both men and women may belong. Worldwide, there are more than 500,000 members. The organization was created in the United States in the early 19th century to allow women to join with their Masonic relatives in promoting the values and charitable purposes that are an important part of the Masonic fraternity.

While the Order of the Eastern Star has evolved over the centuries, it still remains rooted in its charitable endeavors and fraternal fellowship.
